About Idea Creation (Brainstorming) Training Sessions

Clearly define the problem or challenge presented
The first and most important step in trying to solve something is properly identifying the problem and attempting to break it down to its core components if and when possible; as even large problems once properly digested and deconstructed can be tackled with relative ease. For the purposes of Idea Creation training, the participant is always given the task of facing the problem first and finding out which parts of it can be tackled in as small a portion as possible.
Create a step-by-step solution for this problem
Once the elements of the problem have been properly broken down the hard work of solving it can begin. Actual solutions may come during or after this particular process, but to properly solve a multi-faceted problem one has to do it in steps or stages to ensure that there are no loose ends or unresolved variables present when the solution(s) is/are being implemented. Idea Creation participants are taught to set up this system first and make it their framework for problem-solving later on, as this is a strong foundation for their varied and dynamic solution-systems that they are sure to pick up on later.
Encourage individual problem-solving
Brainstorming usually involves more than just one person; usually a group of many individuals are on the same team trying to find a fix for a certain problem or topic. Idea Creation training teaches participants the value of having these teammates and how to properly utilise the wide array of minds, ideas, experiences, and specialisations by allocating qualified or at least familiar minds to the correct problems and allowing them the opportunity of creating a solution by themselves and later contribute to others’ in their creative processes in the creation of their solutions by providing valid critique and expressing important concerns.
Aid in the implementation of possible solutions
Once a solution has been provided, discussed, and has passed scrutiny, then comes the challenge of putting these ideas into motion and implementation. As the leader in the scenarios in Idea Creation training, participants are expected to oversee and manage their peers as they attempt to apply the solution to the problem at hand; they will be tasked with keeping tabs on progress, observing and recording the implementation process, and overseeing to the needs of their peers to the best of their ability. If need be they themselves must also be willing and able to get involved and make any compromises that promotes efficiency and speed over all.
Create a robust idea creation and implementation system
Beyond problem-solving under their direct control and observation, Idea Creation training advises its participants on how to encourage the creation of creative problem-solving and solution implementation within their workplace even without their presence. Encouraging a culture of knowing both self-reliance and cooperation and utilising the immediately advantages of both depending on the context presented allows for a more effective and therefore more efficient workplace.
Promote adaptation and dynamism in problem-solving
While some problems in the workplace are certainly recurring problems that one may end up facing, other problems and their subsequent solutions may not be as rigid. For example, one problem that most manufacturing businesses are faced with is where to find raw materials to make their goods from. Normally there would be a supplier that can constantly provide that solution, but what if that supplier goes out of business or is otherwise made unavailable? In Idea Creation training, participants are encouraged to find simple solutions for some problems (in this case, finding a new supplier), and create maverick ones for others (find suitable substitute materials); this promotes an attitude of dynamism and adaptation which will be key in finding solutions in the long-term.
